Euro7 in focus: NDT for in-process quality control during brake disc coating

From June 1–3, 2026, the international brake industry will come together at EuroBrake in Mainz. For the automotive sector, one topic will be particularly in focus: Euro7. The new emissions standard extends the scope beyond classic exhaust emissions and also introduces new requirements for particulate emissions from brakes.

For manufacturers, suppliers and development teams, this means brake discs must not only deliver functional performance, but also be tested and assessed under reproducible conditions and manufactured to consistently high quality. As a result, structural and coating quality, material properties, natural frequencies, damping behavior and reliable evaluation are becoming even more important—both in development and in production quality assurance.

This is exactly where MAUL-THEET comes in. At EuroBrake2026, at Booth103, we will demonstrate how high-precision testing and measurement technology helps make technical test processes more efficient, more reproducible and more meaningful. The focus is our Quality control test stand | VQC for brake discs.

The VQC enables automated testing of structural-dynamic characteristics and supports manufacturers in particular with reliable monitoring of manufacturing and coating processes. Changes in the brake disc can be detected at an early stage, allowing defective parts to be identified, scrap to be reduced and process reliability to be increased. At the same time, the system provides reliable data acquisition and chronological documentation of measurement results across all process stages. This makes the VQC a solution for companies that want to monitor their production processes in a traceable manner in the face of increasing requirements. It also allows gradual changes in the production process to be detected and tracked over time.

Visitors to EuroBrake2026 can experience the VQC firsthand: at Booth103, we will demonstrate how MAUL-THEET combines automated test workflows, vibration and modal analysis, and damping assessments into a single quality inspection process.

We look forward to technical exchange, to real-world questions from the field, and to engaging discussions about current developments in brake and testing technology. Visit MAUL-THEET at EuroBrake2026 in Mainz—we look forward to welcoming you in person at Booth103.
