FAQ

Description

In the development and production of braking systems, damping layers—so-called shims—are applied to brake pad backing plates to suppress brake squeal. To compare the effect of different shims, samples are measured according to in-house specifications. These requirements are typically based on determining modal damping as a function of natural frequency and temperature.

MAUL-THEET offers the DTS, a system that automates time-consuming measurements and thus delivers reproducible results efficiently.

Standards and guidelines

With the DTS, measurements can be carried out according to the following standards and guidelines

The measurement results are compiled into a report automatically or, if preferred, with a single button press.
