Description
The vImpact-64 is a compact and powerful automatic modal hammer that represents an advancement in quality control.
Thanks to the optimized hammer geometry of the vImpact-64, even flat structures can be stimulated centrally. The vImpact-64 offers flexible adjustment of the pulse strength and also has a timer mode in which shocks are automatically triggered for an adjustable time interval. It also has zero point positioning (EndPos), which allows the hammer to be easily set up for different testing requirements.
The automatic modal hammer vImpact-64 combines functionality and compactness, making it ideal for high-frequency measurements on smaller components or assemblies.

Application & Integration
Setup Automatic modal hammer
Bad excitation
If not set up correctly, the load cell will also be loaded in the transverse direction. The load cells are designed for measurement in the axial direction. Transverse forces that occur are not measured.
In the case of a non-vertical impact, the test object is excited at an angle and the vertical impact force is unknown.
Good excitation
When operating an automatic modal hammer, the precise setup of the hammer is important in order to obtain good transmission functions.
To do this, the tip of the hammer must hit the measurement object at a right angle. In this case, the load cell is subjected to axial stress and guarantees that the force is transmitted correctly.
The new vImpact-63/64 and vImpact-2003/2004 have a setup mode in which the hammers move to the intended stop position. In this position, it is very easy to align the automatic modal hammers correctly.
