Damping test stand SAE J3001 | DTS

Damping test bench for determining the natural frequencies and damping values depending on the temperature.

Datasheet (EN)

Description

During the development and production of brake systems, damping layers, known as shims, are applied to the brake pad backing plates to suppress brake squeal. To compare the effectiveness of different shims, samples are measured according to company-specific specifications. These specifications are usually based on determining the modal damping as a function of natural frequency and temperature. MAUL-THEET offers a system that automates these time-consuming measurements, thus delivering efficiently and reproducibly results.
