Airflow Test Stand | ATS

Describtion

The measurement technique of air flow with sonic nozzles can be used to measure the mass flow through turbine blades, blast pipes or gas burners with very high accuracy. Our test stands are compact and include the sonic nozzles, the sensores and the PC for the automatic test control.

Advantages & Innovation

Automated test system for determining air mass flows

Cost and time savings due to low personnel costs

Scalable for different blade types and sizes through flexible nozzle register

Scalable for different blade types and sizes through flexible nozzle register

Applications & Integrations

Component testing of aircraft engines

Component tests for gas and steam turbines,

Turbine blades, compressor blades and vanes

blade refurbishment

Mass flow determination

Verification of effective flow cross-sections

Quality Control

Series testing

Research and Development

Cost and time reduction

The easy use of the software and an high safety level makes it is possible for normal workers to do the measurements of the test objects. This leads to a reduction of costs and enables a test in the production line. Deviations from the tolerances are detected very early and bad parts can be sorted out. To reach this goal the automation of the following steps was done:

Pressure control

Valve steering

Selection of measurement parameters

The complete measurement is reduced to one mouse click.

Software

The main focus during the development was to create an easy to use and very functional software. The result is a program that can be used for nearly every quality test. The following key features are available:

Sequential measurements (including master blade measurements)

R&D test measurements

Sequence management

Test item management (Blade management)

Analysis & reports

User & right management

All setups and measurement data are saved in an local data base but can also be stored on an main server. The export to Excel or SAP is implemented and with the “Office-Function” it is possible to setup the parameter or define or edit the test sequences form the office PC via the network.

Applications

Components test for gas turbines

Air cooled turbine blades

Gas burner with mutiple ports

Detection of the flow-cross section

Drill holes

Complex test objects

Calibration of mass flow measurement devices
