Description
The air mass flow measurement method using supercritically operated nozzles offers the possibility of measuring the air mass flow through turbine blades, sheet metal openings and other test objects such as gas burners with high precision. The test stands are compact and, in addition to the measuring nozzles and sensors, contain a PC for automated operation.
Advantages & Innovation
- Cost and time savings thanks to low personnel costs
- Automated testing system for determining air mass flows
- Scalable for different blade types and sizes thanks to flexible nozzle register
- Supercritically flown through nozzles according to DIN EN ISO 9300
- Accuracy +/-0.5% of reading
- Standard measuring range 0.95 to 750kg/h
- Automatic nozzle selection and pressure control
- Automatic recognition of the calming containers
- User-friendly testing software
- Project-orientated database structure
- Automatic measurement report generation
- Relative pressure on the test specimen: pressure ratio 1.1 to 1.5, optionally up to 3.5
Application & Integration
Components
Mass flow determination
The mass flow is determined by pressure measurements on supercritically operated nozzles in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9300
- Nozzle register with 6 or more nozzles
- Mass flows from 5 to 750kg/h
- Pressure ratios up to 3.5
Sensors
The ATS has different pressure and temperature sensors
- Absolute pressure
- Pressure in front of blade
- Differential pressure at the nozzle
- Temperature in the Calming container
- ETC
Measurement data acquisition
The ATS has a PLC control for measuring measured values and controlling the measuring process.
Windows PC
- Industrial PC with Windows 10/11 integrated into the measurement test bench
Software
The ATS software controls the entire testing process. It includes user management, management of test objects, work orders, measurements, analyzes as well as documentation and report creation.
Specification of the test object
- Name and meta data
- Selection of the measuring nozzle according to the nominal mass flow
- Tolerance ranges
- Specification for the calculation of reduced mass flows
Measuring sequence according to a task
- Series measurement
- Repeat measurement
- Master blade measurement
Automatic measurement procedure
- Control of the selected measuring nozzle of the nozzle register
- Adjusting the specified pressure ratio
- Averaging of the calculated mass flow measurement values
- Monitoring the measurement process (fluctuation of the pressure ratio)
Report creation and output of results for each job as a table
- Printer, PDF, Excel, CSV, etc.
